IT Architect

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving strategy, target state, and roadmap for distributed server infrastructure, virtualization, and ultimately cloud computing across the global First Data infrastructure landscape, such to deliver ubiquitous, scalable, and elastic infrastructure capacity for application and business consumption. Work closely with other architecture and execution teams in order to communicate, collaborate, and drive the infrastructure strategy.

Experience in driving global target architecture, standards, and roadmaps in distributed hardware, operating systems, and cloud computing.

Experience in Unix (AIX, Solaris) / Linux/Windows, Virtualization/VMWare, x86-based technologies, blade server technologies (HP C-class blades), IBM pSeries, Sun hardware, storage/SAN technologies, systems monitoring/ instrumentation/alerting, performance management, OS provisioning.

Acts as a technical relationship manager between the Enterprise infrastructure operations organization and client development and/or application development teams.

Works on highly complex projects and issues that span multiple business and technical disciplines

Works independently and is required to lead cross functional teams

Recommends strategy for functional and business units they support and ensures the implementation of high-end, business-wide, critical strategy set by senior management.

Requires minimal direction from manager

Escalates serious issues to more senior management.

• 10+ yrs. of related IT experience. Bachelor’s Degree. MBA is a plus.
  
  
  
  
  
• Financial sector experience a plus.
  
  
  
  
  
• Strong communication skills and ability to function as the business to IT liaison.
