The Renovations Department seeks (1) a Project Superintendent, Senior to join the incredible team, taking the Renovations Department to the next level of excellence!

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The ideal candidate serves a leadership role in the supervision of a group of Facilities and contract employees conducting renovation projects across campus. In addition to supporting the department, the Project Superintendent Senior will also:

  • Coordinate renovations projects, supervises approx. 30 or more trades employees' activities and will manage personnel project in the absence of Director.
  • Coordinates the repair and renovation projects in various trades. The employee is responsible for project planning, managing materials and equipment, assigning work duties, and assessing projected time and needs.
  • Reviews project plans, drawing, and specifications deliberates with estimators, project superintendents to adjust discrepancies. Inspects completed work for craftsmanship and conformance with design standards.
  • Manages personnel actions of the Renovations including interviewing applicants, handling disciplinary actions, and recommending personnel for promotion, salary change, hiring, and termination.
  • Prepares formal performance evaluations for employees assigned to the Renovations division. Determines personnel, equipment, and materials needed and ensures that manpower and materials are obtained as needed to meet schedules.
  • Will supervise the Renovations employees in the absence of the Director.
  • Assists the Director with developing objectives and goals for the renovation department and ensures that objectives are accomplished. Conducts staff meetings and maintains communications with employees, peers, and other University staff as needed.
  • Supervises the activities of renovation employees, including skilled craft workers, construction contractors, and assigned administrative staff.
  • Meets with customers, contractors, and/or architects.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years of related experience or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

  • Able to read specifications and blueprints.
  • Thorough knowledge of the tools, techniques, and terminology used in the operation of electrical, carpentry, and painting trades.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills including critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of automated systems, Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work with others in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Strong supervisory experience.
