We are excited to add a Director, Operational Excellence (Manufacturing) to our Operations team! The position will pay between $180,000 - $220,000 plus bonus and long term incentives based on previous relevant experience, educational credentials, and location.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Lead the continuous improvement for manufacturing support activities, including production scheduling, documentation, training, and data management. Oversee the transition of new products in support of meeting manufacturing capabilities and compliance. Lead the evaluation and implementation of a manufacturing execution system that aligns with the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to track and document the transformation of raw materials to finished goods.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and drive site Operational Excellence culture, including training, implementing best practices/knowledge sharing, effective collaborative working, and synergies across MIMEDX.
  • Requires the ability to contribute as both a leader and individual contributor across Business Excellence projects.
  • Partners with operations leadership in setting and achieving specific goals around Business Excellence initiatives. This includes working with key leadership to design and implement local implementation strategies to effectively deploy the global program requirements and drive the continuous improvement cultural mindset.
  • Tracks and reports progress of Business Excellence program initiatives to Plant and Senior Management. Frequently performs assessment audits to measure Business Excellence program maturity and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Maintain and track VIP metrics and performance in support of value stream teams. Work with plant leadership staff to ensure continuous flow of project implementation and idea generation.
  • Engineering support for the floor to achieve and improve key metrics.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for following all GMP's and SOP's as defined by MIMEDX Medical's policies, practices and procedures to ensure that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and ISO regulations and MIMEDX's Medical's quality standards are met.
  • This role is hands on and directly accountable for business results.
  • Provide LEAN Six Sigma expert advice, support, coaching and mentoring to leaders and their teams for the execution of the Operational Excellence Strategy.
  • Apply principles of world class project management, lean manufacturing and six sigma and other Continuous Improvement methodologies to support manufacturing operations.
  • Responsible for the planning and delivery of the organization's OpEx training across the organization in alignment with the standards and guidelines (DMAIC/PDCA methodologies, Lean Six Sigma, TPM).
  • Demonstrates awareness, knowledge and guidance of continuous improvement such as Lean and Six Sigma principles, methodologies and tools.
  • Ensure project tracking system and business results are maintained, and results are communicated/summarized monthly.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree in Business or Engineering. Engineering Degree, Post graduate degree highly desirable.
  • 10+ years in a manufacturing environment or equivalent professional business experience
  • 5+ years building and leading manufacturing teams
  • Experience in designing, developing and deploying Business Excellence/Continuous Process Improvement programs (Lean and Six Sigma).
  • Lean / 6 Sigma Certification, including Master Black Belt.
  • Experience with the following methodologies and practices: FMEA, Kaizen, Lean tools, 5S, Visual Factory Aids, SMED concepts, VSM, VOC and Poke Yoke
  • Experience in the Medical Device industry highly desirable

  • Demonstrated track record of leading within complex organizations requiring strong influential communication skills
  • Effective decision-making skills and proven accountability for business results
  • Ability to negotiate and balance decisions and priorities across needs across MIMEDX
  • Demonstrated experience teaching and coaching the application of Lean and Six Sigma tools
  • Exhibits a high level of energy and possesses excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical/statistical problem-solving tools (DMAIC/PDCA/8 Disciplines) Ability to support multiple projects and balance priorities.
  • Broad business knowledge and curiosity to learn about the organization.
  • Strong coaching, influencing, facilitation and organizational skills including and understanding of and proficiency in Change Management.
  • Experience working in problem solving, including clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of cross-functional project teams
  • Ability to work cooperatively at all levels in matrix environment to build and maintain positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal/team effectiveness- ability to succinctly and accurately communicate to various levels of employees
