This First Transit location is located in Atlanta, Georgia where we operate shuttle bus service as well as provide maintenance needs of the vehicles and equipment for MARTA Mobility.

  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers by performing limited repairs with moderate supervision on basic and advanced maintenance.
  • Remove and replace engine, transmission, and differential assemblies
  • Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles including parts and supplies used. Ensure that work orders are completed properly and accurately.
  • Repair and maintain all shop equipment
  • Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary
  • Diagnoses and performs accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)
  • Valid drivers license
  • ASE Certification preferred. Must participate in ASE testing program within 1 year (expected to have 3 ASE within 12 months of hire
  • 1 - 5+ years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience
  • Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced computer skills
  • Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Must have appropriate mechanic's toolset.
